What matters locally
A dyslexia assessment at Sensational Minds is carried out by a Level 7 PATOSS qualified assessor holding an Assessment Practising Certificate. Reports are APC registered, meaning one assessment is valid from school through university and beyond.
Most assessments are completed online over 3 to 4 hours. Face to face appointments are available in Colchester every 8 weeks and are booked on a first come first served basis.
Essex schools, colleges and universities accept our reports because they follow SASC guidance from the British Dyslexia Association and include the specific, quantified language needed for access arrangements and DSA applications.

Getting to us
- Online assessments take place over Microsoft Teams and last 3 to 4 hours, with breaks built in.
- Face to face appointments take place in Colchester every 8 weeks and are limited, so early booking is recommended.
- Reports are issued within 4 to 6 weeks of the assessment, followed by a feedback conversation.
- All clients must have had an eye test within the last year before the assessment takes place.
