What matters locally
We ask for a referral from a GP, another health professional or a SENCO. If a GP referral letter cannot be obtained, we ask for a copy of your GP Summary, which can be sourced from your receptionist GP service.
Many of the Essex adults we assess come to us after a child was assessed locally and the developmental history questionnaire described them as accurately as it described their child.
Assessment includes an Equality Act adjustments summary that can be shared with an employer, widely used by clients working across Essex and those commuting into London.
Where a relative who knew you as a child is unavailable, common for adults assessed in later life, we use documentary evidence and structured recall, and we tell you honestly what that means for diagnostic confidence.
