Find Your Game: your questions answered
Clear answers, written in plain English.
How do the October trial sessions work?
Trial sessions run throughout October 2026 so your child can experience the group before the full programme launches in November. Complete the enrolment form and we will match your child with two or three young people we feel will work well together, then confirm a day, time and venue. Introductory sessions are £35 throughout October.
What does a typical session look like?
Sessions are led by Mark, an experienced teacher and sports specialist with over 20 years' experience supporting children and young people. Groups are kept to just three or four young people, organised by age band and confidence level. Every child has a baseline confidence and participation profile, individual goals, and a half-termly progress review — so sessions are shaped around them, not a fixed sports curriculum.
Is Find Your Game suitable for children who are EOTAS or not in school?
Yes. The programme has been designed with EOTAS learners, flexi-schooled and home-educated children firmly in mind, with daytime as well as evening sessions. The enrolment form asks about your child's school situation so we can place them thoughtfully and plan timings that work.
Can our school or SENCO refer a child?
Yes — schools and SENCOs are very welcome to refer children and young people who would benefit from a smaller, more understanding sports environment. The programme is designed and overseen by our Founder, a Specialist SENCO and neurodevelopmental practitioner, and we are happy to talk through individual needs before a place is confirmed. Please use the enquiry form or the contact page to start the conversation.
What is the £35 Founding Families offer?
Families who join early pay a Founding Families rate of £35 per session — the usual price is £45. The reduced rate applies to introductory sessions throughout October. First half-term sign-ups also receive a Sensational Minds sports top and water bottle included.
Does my child need a diagnosis to join?
No. Find Your Game is for any child or young person aged 7–17 who finds traditional sports clubs overwhelming, wants to build confidence, or simply hasn't found their game yet — whether neurodivergent, awaiting assessment, or just needing a different kind of environment.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions are likely to take place in Stanway, Colchester, with other venues in surrounding areas possible depending on demand. We confirm the venue when we match your child into a group.
My child has had difficult sporting experiences before. How is this different?
Find Your Game isn't about creating elite athletes. It's a neurodivergent-friendly, confidence-building environment where young people explore movement and experience success at their own pace. The enrolment form asks about any previous negative experiences and your child's sensory and communication needs so we can get it right from the very first session.
Are one-to-one sessions available?
Yes. For young people who would benefit from more individualised support, bespoke 1:1 sessions are available at our standard intervention rate of £125 per session.
What happens after I enrol?
You'll receive a confirmation email straight away. We then match your child with two or three young people we feel may work well together, and we'll be in touch to confirm the group, day, time and venue before sessions begin.
